I Have A Home . . . .
I Have A Home . . . . .
This week I’ve been reminiscing about my youth years back in the Philippines. The most fun I had were when I was around ten years old. In my country, if you happen to own a big house, you will always have relatives and friends around. We often times had sleepovers. I grew up with my nephews and nieces who were more or less the same age as I was. We got along pretty well and we had so much fun growing up together! Now that we’re all grown ups, we still miss those good experiences and, of course, each other. We all love and care for one another deeply. In my family, I have a “home”.
In 1978, I moved to Hong Kong and started a new life and soon after adjusting to this new city, I found friends. After years of living there, it became “home” to me and it still is.
Lately, I am reminded that there is a Greater Home to look forward to! I was reading Psalm 90 particularly in verse 1-2 “Lord, you have been our HOME (dwelling) since the beginning. Before the mountains were born and before you created the earth and the world, you are God. You have always been, and you will always be”. Oh how comforting these verses are to me! As well Jesus said, “There are many rooms in my Father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you”. (John 14:2 NCV)
God is my HOME. I can’t wait to see that glorious day when He’s going to take us home to be with Him for eternity!
