Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)

 

To “fix our eyes on Jesus” means we are to look away from everything and look only to Jesus, the One Great One, who should be everything to us.  The challenge for us is to make sure that the distractions of life do not slow us down or knock us out of the race.  Jesus is the one who endured the cross and shed His blood for us so that our sins may be forgiven.  Jesus is the One who will make all things new.  We are to put our faith in Jesus and trust in Him only, no matter what our circumstances are.

 

Think about Jesus’ example… He held on while wicked people were doing evil things to him.  So do not get tired and stop trying  [Heb. 12:3 (NCV)].
