Social Justice
The Life-Changing Link Between Social Justice and Churches
You don’t have to look very far to see injustice in our world. The challenge is to not just see it, but to do something about it.
At Liberty, we want to empower every person to make a difference in their world. Through practical acts of service and kindness, we are changing our social landscape - one life at a time.
How could you change the world you live in? … Discover Your Destiny!
As a community, we are really passionate about social justice issues. That may sound abstract or highly ambitious but, in reality, social justice is simply defined…
What is the Meaning of Social Justice?
Social Justice = Theology in Action. We believe that when the gospel is really put into action, it changes people’s lives and transforms communities. That’s why Liberty engages in many programs and events that speak to these issues.
In fact, we have intentionally planted ourselves in the inner city so that we can build authentic relationships with people in need. We believe that…
- No child in Canada should ever be hungry at night.
- No woman should ever feel afraid of the people who live her house.
- Every person - and family - should have equal opportunity to succeed in Canada.

It’s time to take action!…You can make a difference
Taking action on social justice issues in Toronto is not difficult; all it requires is a little bit of time and compassion. Liberty believes that if enough people could combine these two ingredients, then our city would be a much different place to live!
We want Torontonians to know that they can make a HUGE difference in the lives of people in their city. We are crazy enough to believe that if 12 disciples can change the world, then hundreds of people in Toronto can transform a city.
Take the MyDestiny Profile to see where you fit in
Part of our mandate as a community is to make social justice both accessible and attractive. We do this by helping people discover what they are passionate about and placing them on teams that get the job done.
Filling out our short MyDestiny Profile will help you identify what areas you excel in and can contribute to the Liberty community.
We have often asked ourselves the question, “if our church were to close tomorrow, would our community even notice that we were gone?” We are trying to make sure that answer is a resounding ‘YES!!
