Food Programs

Food is One Community Service We Can’t Do Without

Free food for those in need

We all need food - most of us enjoy food, and some of us overindulge in food… but, sadly, some people in our very own city struggle with getting enough basic food provisions for themselves and their families.

Statistics tell us that since 1995, the use of food banks in the Greater Toronto Area has increased by 90%. This fact is shocking, especially when we, and the world, consider Canada to be a prosperous nation.

Breaking Down Stereotypes about the Hungry

Stereotypes exist about the kind of person who uses a food bank – and they’re just not always true. Many of the people who need food banks are employed full-time, but as housing and transportation costs continue to rise, they cannot put enough food on the table for their family.

Liberty International Church is doing what we can to provide for those who are in need of food staples and we are trying to bring dignity back to those who could use a helping hand.

Once we have secured a new building our vision is to provide a Food Market where those needing food staples, fresh fruit and vegetables could shop each week, with a predetermined amount of credit available to them

Free Food on Sunday Mornings & Wed Summer Nights

We provide a complimentary breakfast - coffee, muffins and more donated by Starbucks - to all our guests at the Sunday Morning Experience. We want to provide all the children - of every age - with a full stomach as they attend their individual Sunday a.m. kids programs.

Pastor Jessica and volunteers prepare hot dogs at Wed BBQ in the ParkWednesdays are designated Summer Community BBQ Night! Every Wednesday from May through November, 5 - 6 p.m., we unpack our Jam Van, set up our tent, and fire up the barbecue to cook more than 200 hot dogs for anyone who comes by 10th Street in Etobicoke, just North of Lakeshore Blvd. - at the Lakeshore Village Park. If you’re in the area, come by and grab a dog!

Christmas Feasts are Always a Treat

Turkey, is always a great big hit at Christmas time. We have cooked many hot turkey dinners, as well as given away many frozen turkeys that families can prepare at Christmas themselves at home.

Bellies are still going empty for too many Torontonians - so we always have a need for help, whether it’s a donation of food staples, or financial contributions. If you’re interested in helping, please contact us to make a difference in the lives of hungry families.
