Camp InnerChange 2010 - In It To Win It!

What an amazing experience we had at a camp this year… lives have been forever changed, and memories have been created that will last a lifetime.  The kids, jr. leaders, and counselors were definitely “In It to Win It” and they were not just trying to win any random prize.  No these young children and future leaders were in it to win Jesus!  For those five days last week they were on fire for Him and we just pray that each one of them have taken the experience home with them, and will continue to walk it out in their daily lives!

Each year at Camp InnerChange children get a chance to get away from the stresses of city living and enjoy a Christ filled week away from all the distractions.  The picture above was taken during one of the worship services where all the kids were encouraged to write down their dreams for the future and then lay them on the cross & this was just one of the many life-changes moments experienced at Camp InnerChange 2010!

If you missed out this year - please don’t let the experience pass you by again because we all need to be “In It to Win It!”

Blessings,

Nina

Camp Innerchange ‘09 Debrief

Well we made it, we survived!

Not only did we (the leaders, volunteers, counselors) survive we were encouraged by what we witnessed.

Amazing things that occurred at camp this year:

- 200 children attended Camp Innerchange (the biggest camp ever!)

- many children accepted Christ for the first time at camp

- many children were filled with the Holy Spirit as evidenced by “speaking in tongues

- children were able to respond immediately to Christ the first night and throughout the whole week (it didn’t take 5 days to convince them)

- our junior counselors were so helpful and a big part of the campers spiritual formation

- stories of what God did in campers lives were genuine

- children were able to understand some deep truths from God’s word and apply it to their lives

Here’s a list of the not so spiritual things that happened & what we learned at camp this year:

- we learned who can and cannot dance

- we learned who can and cannot rap

- we learned that the Yellow (& black) team is the best!

- we learned how to play in the rain

- we learned that when you poke yourself with an epi-pen (oops sorry nurse) all the medicine is released immediately (also learned not to serve peanuts to children- Food Allergies!)

- we learned that when given the opportunity many children will wear the same outfit all week (we also learned how smelly children can get, without someone telling them to bathe).

Well here’s a sample of the confession that all the children were encouraged to learn and say over their lives.  It was so much fun- give it a try, the music is your background beat while you rap the words.

Camp Innerchange Confession ‘09

I make this confession to you Lord today,

I’m getting real serious I don’t want to play.

I wanna hear your Word & let it change my heart,

I wanna get right with you & have a fresh start.

So I’ll step up Lord, cause you’re all that I need.

I’ll step up Lord, cause you gave your life for me

So I will follow you wherever you lead,

I’ll give you my heart- I’ll give you all of me!

I’ll step up.

Go ahead, give it a try, when no-one’s around, what do you have to lose?

Dave
